Customer Services 9267 9267 The City of Swan encourages the staging and hosting of events within the City as part of it's economic and cultural goals for the community. If you wish to arrange your own private or public event the City has venues for hire (see Venue hire under Things to see and do) or there are private venues -many in the Swan Valley that may be suitable. Public Events If the event is open to the public then approvals may be required under State legislation to manage public health and safety risks. See information under You and Your property- Planning building and Health.
Planning a function or activities that may result in excessive noise? By advising your neighbours in advance you will reduce the likelihood of complaints. If you are concerned about unreasonable noise from a party or function after the City’s normal business hours phone the local police. If the problem is ongoing and can’t be resolved by talking to the people concerned please phone the City during office hours to register your complaint or use this on-line form. Private Parties- These are exempt from approvals but still required compliance with Noise Regulations.
Street Parties Generally these are not supported by the City due to risks to public health and safety from noise, large gatherings of uninvited people and traffic movements, and potential for damage to property or injury to people. Approvals that you need For Health Approvals- contact 9267 9153 for preliminary advice on whether any approvals are required and if so what type. They vary depending on the risk of the event.
