Customer Services 9267 9267 Do you need a Building Licence to build a patio or pergola? A pergola does not require a Building Licence because it’s an unroofed, open frame structure. However a patio that has a water impermeable roof does require a Building Licence. Although pergolas do not require Building Licences they must meet minimum requirements to ensure structural integrity. If you are not sure what these requirements are, seek advice from a reputable individual or company. |
